A brief part of Adnan Karim’s life
Adnan Karim is an imperishable name in Kurd’s mind. He is a singer with extensive experience spanning years.
Adnan Karim was born in 1963 in Kirkuk. In 1985 he graduated from Institute of Fine Arts/ Sulaimaniyah –Drawing Department . In 1991 he left Kurdistan and moved abroad. His artistic career goes back to 1979 where he first sang “Dasmale” with Sulaimany Music Band. Later on, in 1980 he recorded another song ,”Kaziwa”, with the same band. Kaziwa was the prelude of the Kurdish play “Zalkaw” which was the product of Peshrawy Kurd Theater Group.
In 1983, Adnan Karim taped” Shawi Tariki u Bedangi” song, and after he left Kurdistan, he arrived Sweden in 1992 and continued his artistic journey there. In Sweden he released a recorded cassette under the title “ Birtan Dakam” which was filmed in Lille in France. That cassette album contained seven songs, four of them composed by Rizgar Ismaile, but the other three ones ( Halbja, Koch and Azadi) were composed by Adnan himself.
